Vermont Nail Training Requirements
The scenic state of Vermont needs manicurists throughout many industries. Students who are ready to enroll in a nail tech school must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Nail tech school in Vermont must have at least 400 hours of training. Alternatively, a student may complete an apprenticeship of between 600 and 900 hours, and lasting for 6 to 12 months. Students must learn to care for the fingernails, toenails, hands and feet of their clients. They demonstrate their knowledge and skill by passing the national written and practical exams. Once training and written and practical board exams are successfully completed, the Vermont Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists awards the student their initial nail tech license.
