Washington: The Evergreen State

If you are interested in getting your Washington cosmetology license or other beauty license, below is all the information you need to know about getting licensed in the Evergreen State!

Licenses Available:
Barber
Cosmetologist
Esthetician
Manicurist

Required Hours:
Barber: 1000 Barber School Hours
Cosmetologist: 1600 Beauty School Hours
Esthetician: 600 Esthetics School Hours
Manicurist: 600 Nail School Hours

License Requirements:
Must be at least 17 years of age.

Reciprocity:
All applicants licensed in other states are eligible to take written and practical examinations, provided they have completed the required number of training hours for licensure in Washington.

Renewal:
Washington cosmetology licenses are valid for two years. The state of Washington requires 16 hours of continuing education every two years. To renew your license in Washington, the following must be submitted to the WA cosmetology board:
- Fee
- Renewal form
- Proof of continuing education hours
