Georgia Nail Training Requirements
Students who wish to become nail technicians in Georgia have two options to become licensed. The first is to complete a cosmetology class of at least 525 credit hours over 4 months at an accredited cosmetology school. The other option is to apprentice to a licensed manicurist for 1050 hours and a minimum of 8 months. Students must pass both a written and a practical exam after completing either school or the apprentice program. Once all requirements are complete, the student can apply for their state license through the State of Georgia Board of Cosmetology.
