Manicurist
Esthetician
Electrologist
Required Hours:
Practitioner: 1800 Cosmetology School Hours
Manicurist: 300 Nail School Hours
Esthetician: 450 Esthetics School Hours
Electrologist: 450 Electrolysis Training Hours
License Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
If high school diploma or GED is not available, applicant may take Ability to Benefit Test.
Reciprocity:
All applicants must have at least 4000 hours of experience in licensed practice, and have never been disciplined by the licensing authority in their state of licensure. Anyone who does not meet these reciprocity requirements must attend a beauty school in Wisconsin to get licensed.
Renewal:
Wisconsin cosmetology licenses and other beauty licenses are valid until March 31 of odd-numbered years. The state does not currently require continuing education hours to renew. To renew your cosmetology license in Wisconsin, the following must be submitted to the WI cosmetology board:
