Manicurist
Required Hours:
Barber: 1500 Barber School Hours
Electrologist: 650 Electrolysis Training Hours
Esthetician: 600 Esthetics School Hours
Hairdresser, Cosmetician: 1500 Beauty SChool Hours
Manicurist: 300 Nail School Hours
License Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
Reciprocity: Rhode Island considers reciprocity on a case-by-case basis. It is granted to applicants with credentials equal to or greater than those of Rhode Island. Work experience may be considered (100 hours of credit for each 3 months you have been licensed, not to exceed 500 hours of credit.)
Renewal:
Rhode Island cosmetology licenses must be renewed every two years. At this time, no continuing education hours are required to renew. To renew your license in Rhode Island, the following are due to the RI cosmetology board:
