Cosmetologist, Cosmetician
Electrologist
Esthetician/Facialist
Hairbraiding Technician
Manicurist
Required Hours:
Cosmetologist: 1500 Beauty School Hours (3000 Apprentice)
Cosmetician: 600 Beauty school Hours
Electrologist: 600 Electrolysis Training Hours
Esthetician / Facialist: 600 Esthetics School Hours
Hairbraiding Technician: 600 Beauty School Hours
Manicurist: 600 Nail School Hours
License Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must have an 8th grade education.
Reciprocity:
Oklahoma grants reciprocity to licensees from states with equal or higher requirements. Proof of five years of work experience may be considered.
Renewal:
Oklahoma cosmetology licenses are valid for one year. Licenses must be renewed by the last day of your birth month annually. At this time, the state does not require additional continuing education hours to renew. To renew your license in Oklahoma, the following is due to the OK cosmetology board:
