If you are interested in getting your Montana cosmetology license or other beauty license, below is all the information you need to know about getting licensed in the Treasure State!

Licenses Available:
Barber
Cosmetologist
Electrologist
Esthetician
Manicurist

Required Hours:
Barber: 2000 Barber School Hours
Cosmetologist: 2000 Beauty School Hours
Electrologist: 600 Electrolysis Training Hours
Esthetician: 650 Esthetics School Hours
Manicurist: 350 Nail School Hours

License Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.

Reciprocity:
Granted to out of state applicants if their training is equivalent to or greater than that of Montana.

Renewal:
Montana cosmetology licenses expire every two years on December 31. To renew your license in Montana, the following must be turned into the MT cosmetology board:
