Licenses Available:
Barber
Cosmetologist
Electrologist
Esthetician
Nail Technician
Required Hours:
Barber: 1500 Barber School Hours
Cosmetologist: 1500 Cosmetology School Hours
Electrologist: 300 Electrolysis Hours (600 Apprenticeship Hours)
Esthetician: 300 Esthetician Hours
Nail Technician: 125 Nail School Hours
License Requirements:
Applicants must have completed two years of high school or its equivalent.
Reciprocity:
Granted to those applicants from another state whose requirements are equal to or greater than those of Delaware. Work experience may be considered, provided the applicant can prove work experience of at least one year.
Renewal:
Delaware licenses expire every two years, on March 31 of even-numbered years. If you do not renew your license before its expiration date it will lapse. To renew your Delaware cosmetology license, the following items are required at the Delaware Board of Cosmetology:
